The Rhode Island State Police (RISP) are now the ninth (9th) CPI customer to implement OpenFox® Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for their OpenFox Message Switch environment. RISP has moved its OpenFox system source data from the system’s previous location in North Scituate, RI, to the Computer Projects of Illinois, Inc. (CPI) Tier-III+ Data Center in Bolingbrook, IL. Additionally, a Disaster Recovery (DR) system has been deployed in a different location.
By relocating the system into the CPI SaaS Center, responsibilities have transitioned to knowledgeable CPI staff and support. Rhode Island State Police, and all of our SaaS clients, rid themselves of the burden of maintaining older hardware, operating systems, and databases, freeing up their resources to do other duties. CPI’s operational strength and stability provide relief to our clients who can put all those problems behind them. OpenFox Software as a Service is a tremendous value for the Rhode Island State Police.
CPI migrated all existing OpenFox functionality in the RISP data center to the Linux (RHEL) VM environments in the CPI Tier III+ Data Center. The migration included the following OpenFox solutions:
OpenFox Message Switching Software System:
- Production Message Switching System (PROD)
- Test Message Switching System (TEST)
- Proxy Server
OpenFox Applications:
- OpenFox Desktop
- OpenFox Messenger
- OpenFox Configurator
- OpenFox Form Configurator
- OpenFox Operator Aid
- OpenFox Databases
- OpenFox Archive v3
- OpenFox Hotfiles
- OpenFox Validations
Disaster Recovery
CPI deployed a redundant OpenFox Message Switching System located at an offsite location other than the primary hardware location at CPI GQ. This allows for a manual transition to the disaster recovery system should any primary site catastrophe or disaster interruption take place with the OpenFox SaaS Solution for the State.
