The Vermont Department of Public Safety is now the eighteenth (18th) customer to implement the OpenFox® Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for its OpenFox Message Switch environment. Vermont moved its OpenFox system source data from its previous location in Waterbury, VT, to the CJIS-compliant SOC2 audited OpenFox Data Center in Bolingbrook, IL.
By relocating the system to the CPI SaaS Center, knowledgeable CPI staff took over those responsibilities. Vermont and all of our SaaS clients rid themselves of the burden of maintaining older hardware, operating systems, and databases, freeing up their resources to do other duties. CPI’s operational strength and stability provide relief to our clients, who can put all those problems behind them. OpenFox SaaS is a tremendous value for VT.
CPI migrated all existing OpenFox functionality in the VT server environments in the NCIS data center to the Linux (RHEL) VM environments in the CPI Data Center. The migration included the following OpenFox solutions:
- OpenFox Message Switch
- OpenFox Messenger
- OpenFox Configurator v7.5
- Operator Aid
- OpenFox Computerized Criminal History
- OpenFox HotFiles (“HFS”)
- Password Reset Web Portal (“PRWP”)
- Sites Automated Monitoring (“SAM”) On Site
- StoreMugs-Image Repository Application
CPI performed the following services to complete the migration:
- Built a SaaS system in CPI’s Data Center to host the Message Switching System
- Transitioned current VT OpenFox data, software, and configurations to CPI SaaS architecture
- Provided one production and one test environment
- Established connections from the SaaS solution to the State communications endpoints for testing and validation of the conversion
- Established a point-to-point VPN tunnel from CPI’s Data Center
- Implemented a vCenter server HA solution for virtual environments
- Performed system integration testing
- Configured OpenFox Advanced Authentication (“Soft Tokens”) in the OpenFox Message Switch
- Converted StoreMugs-Image Repository programs and interfaces to CPI SaaS architecture inclusive of the Photo Lineup Web application
- Transitioned the new solution into production
